CALL TO ACTION, March 14 2018

Midcoast Maine Indivisible is an action-oriented group of locally-organized citizens who resist efforts to advance the Trump agenda in the United States Congress. We are volunteers, not paid activists.  You are an essential part of that we.

CALL TO ACTION FOR March 14, 2018:

MEET UP TO ACT UP!: Next MCMI meeting is Wednesday, March 14 at 7 pm at the First Universalist Church, 345 Broadway, Rockland. We’ll be planning our next actions, related to the proliferation of guns and the threats to the well-being of our nation’s kids.  So come on down and bring a friend!

RECENT ACTION: On March 7, 2018 in Augusta, Maine, we spoke, registered official federal government comments, and protested outside the Trump administration’s hearing declaring its intention to open up the Gulf of Maine to offshore oil drilling.  We dressed up as two lobsters and an otter, pulled out the awesome “oil derricks” we’d also made, festooned ourselves with leftover “oil slick” tatters, added in a yellow fishing slicker with black marks on it (go Jim Chalfant!), and made a merry protest presence. A Democratic congressional candidate even tried to co-opt us by inserting himself in the picture: (we eschew endorsements). Folks noticed and smiled and complimented us on the way in. Our participation was noted with a photo in the Portland Press Herald, and Sarah Holland’s comments were included in a Bangor Daily News article. We each of us went in and made statements to be entered into the official federal record.

In short, we affected the coverage, we put in our force of opposition. That, friends, is a success!
